WARRENVILLE – James Baldwin Way, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the home of his son. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Way was born October 19, 1927 in Columbus, OH to the late Frederick L. Way and Alice M. Hall Way. He had a long career in the aerospace industry, including NASA projects from Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle. He served our country from 1945 through 1948 in the U.S. Air Force. He loved animals, especially horses and dogs.
Mr. Way is survived by his son, Bruce Way (Janice) of Warrenville, SC; daughter, Cynthia Smith (James) of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Jeromy Way (Jennifer) of Franklin, NC; Kristie Caldwell (Mike) of Lexington, SC; James Way (Shana) of Warrenville, SC and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Janice Alyne Way, two sisters; Barbara and Patricia; and one brother, Lawrence.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
