
LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Jeanette Bacon Corey, 99, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with a private entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends after the service at the church. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mrs. Corey was born July 18, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY and passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was the daughter of Olympic Gold Medal winner Charles J. Bacon, Jr. and Hazel Putnam Bacon. Mrs. Corey inspired the creation of the Yacht Cove Community Church. She was positive, outgoing and had a faithful and loving spirit. She was a skilled painter and photographer.
Mrs. Corey is survived by her daughters, Lynn Pietropaola of Lexington and Gail Metcalf of Pennsylvania; granddaughters, Cindia Deith of Lexington and Diana Lynn of Flemington, NJ. She was predeceased by her husbands, Ken Ortiz, Neal Ostrander and Norman S. Corey.
