Jessie Monts

Gaston – A graveside service for Jessie B. Monts, 85, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Pastor Jesse Monts, Jr. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Glory B. Ministry, P.O. Box 84461, Lexington, SC 29073.

Mr. Monts was born January 5, 1928 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was a son of the late Leroy Monts and Sarah Seay Monts. Mr. Monts was a member of Glory B. Ministry.

Mr. Monts is survived by his sons, Jesse Monts, Jr., (Diann) and Steve Monts all of Lexington, Pat Monts (Shirley) of Pelion, Johnny Monts of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Glenda Atkins (Ronnie) of Lexington, Susan Kinard (Chris) of Prosperity, Cathy Gunter, (Steve) of West Columbia; brothers, Willie Monts (Brenda) of Lexington, Gregg Monts of Lexington, Thomas Monts (Sandy) of Greer and sisters, Elizabeth Dooley (Roscoe) and Loretta Ritenour (Ed) all of Lexington; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and companion, Betty Cook. He was predeceased by his brother, Homer Monts.
