Jessie Mae Spires

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Jessie Mae Spires, 83, will be held at 12:00 noon, May 6, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with interment in Lexington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to SC Autism Society, 806 12th St., West Columbia, SC 29169.

Mrs. Spires was born June 10, 1933 in Lexington County and passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Roy Thomas Owens and Lillie Sharpe Owens. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Rakowsky (John) of West Columbia, Alvin Jeffcoat (Roxanne) of Lexington and Roger Jeffcoat of Gaston; nine grandchildren, Dr. Misti Raman, John Rakowsky, Jr., Brent, Jared, Al and Stacy Jeffcoat, Shawn and Bryan Brown and Crystal Torres; eleven great-grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law, Margie Owens and dear friends Jeanne Raman, Faye Coats, and Guyula Bryant; two special ladies, Margaret Cheek and Laurie Ciccarelli whom she loved dearly and her beloved dog, Jasper. She was predeceased by her husband, Rhoden Spires.
