

LEXINGTON – Judith “Judy” Anne Kaminer Baker, 63, of Lexington, SC beloved wife of Gary R. Baker, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012. Born November 24, 1948 in Charlotte, NC, Judy was the precious daughter of the late Marie Theresa Hampton Kaminer of Danville, VA and Lt. Col (Ret) William Odell Kaminer, Jr. of Lexington, SC.
Mrs. Baker was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in 1970, with a B. S. in Business Administration and Marketing. She briefly taught Distributive Education at Tift High School in Tifton, GA. Judy was employed by the Better Business Bureau of South Carolina before becoming a devoted stay at home mother.
Mrs. Baker was an avid supporter of numerous patriotic, civic and religious organizations. She was a member of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century Chapter of Danville, VA. Mrs. Baker served as Chaplain, Vice Regent and Regent of the Granby Chapter, NSDAR of Lexington, SC where some of her most fulfilling roles were that of National VAVS Representative, SC State Society Vice Chairman of WIMSA, National Deputy Veterans Service Representative, SC State Chairman DAR Service for Veteran Patients and Vice-Chairman of Women Veterans. She was a current member of the Columbia Chapter, NSDAR of Columbia, SC. Mrs. Baker served as Senior Society President of the Jonathan Adams Society, NSCAR. A member of the American Legion auxiliary unit 7, she held many positions of distinction both at the state and local levels working with the Poppy Program, Girls State, Adopt-A-Veteran and the Auxiliary Juniors. She was also a charter member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Lexington Chapter #1920. A member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, she served as president of Daughters of the King and was also a Sunday school teacher.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of almost 27 years, Gary R. Baker of the home, her devoted and loving sons, Marshall Preston Fuller and Hampton Odell Fuller of Lexington, SC; beloved loving daughter and son-in-law, Judith Theresa Fuller Wilson and Rhett Page Wilson of Jacksonville, FL; dear step children, Mark E. Baker and wife Lisa of Lexington, SC, Gara B. Long and husband LTC Daron of Evans, GA; darling grandsons, Ardin Ross Wilson and Morgan Lee Wilson; dear step grandchildren, M. Daniel Baker, Margaret F. Baker, Joseph T. Long, Jacob B. Long, Jenna M. Long and Jarod G. Long. She is also survived by her dearest aunt, Rosa S. Kaminer of Hartsville, SC; cousins, James H. Kaminer and wife, Barry, John S. Kaminer, David R. Kaminer and wife, Tracy, Dr. William F. Kaminer and Mary Jane Kaminer.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church with interment in St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Lexington, SC.
