

CAYCE - Judith Susan Wilson Mill, 79, departed this life peacefully on February 25th, at Brooks Howell Home in Asheville. She was born on Christmas Day in Raleigh, North Carolina and was the daughter of Trammel Charles Wilson and Virginia Heminway Diman Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband. William Harrower Mill, her beloved “Billy”.
Judy graduated from Central High School in Charlotte and then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Nursing program. Judy’s devotion was evident in her faith, family, friends, and all things Gamecock. She was a faithful member of Congaree Presbyterian Church in Cayce, South Carolina for over fifty years where she worked joyfully in numerous aspects of church life. Judy was honored in being named the “Presbyterian Woman of the Year” at Congaree Presbyterian. In addition to being a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and caregiver to many, her social calendar remained full. Judy enjoyed lake life with her husband, being at the beach with her family and friends, playing bridge, planning a good day of tailgating, Precept studies…just to name a few. Those who knew her knew her spirit and benevolence were never ending.
Judy is survived by her children, William Scott Mill (Susan), Donald Hugh Mill, Ronald Drew Mill, and Richard Patrick Mill (Allison) and grandsons, Harrison Charles Mill and William Spencer Mill. She is also survived by her two brothers, Charles Diman Wilson (Bambi), Norman Scott Wilson (Linda), and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Congaree Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12:00pm. A celebration of Judy’s life will follow at Stone River, 121 Alexander Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. A private burial will be held prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to The Courage Center, in care of Mount Horeb United Methodist, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
