June Malyerck Tucarella

LEXINGTON - June Malyerck Tucarella of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. June was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Asta and Edmund Komant.

While she was raised in New York, June lived most of her life in Maine and New Hampshire before moving to South Carolina in 1995. June’s early career included a brief stint with the Central Intelligence Agency and as a professional singer in New York and Florida. She also had a successful career in the cosmetics industry with Fashion Two Twenty and later as a realtor. June was a self-taught artist. Her watercolor and oil paintings have received many awards in juried art shows and can be found in private collections reaching as far as South Africa. Her work is very recognizable for its distinct style and vivid use of color.

She is survived by her son, Scott Malyerck (Kelley), of Newberry, SC; sister, Carolyn Meinhardt of Hendersonville, NC; grandsons, Mitch Malyerck (Carrie) of Irmo, SC, Michael Malyerck (Sarah) of Chapin, SC, and her great-granddaughter, Melody Malyerck of Chapin, SC. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Malyerck, her second husband, John Tucarella and her eldest son, John Malyerck (Rita).

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
