Katrina Luanne Hammett

Katrina was born on December 24, 1962 to Carolyn McClure in Quantico, VA. She is survived by her siblings, James McClure (wife, Paula and children), Karen McClure (and children), William McClure (and children), and Katherine Raley (husband, Robert and children).

Katrina gave birth to her eight children and later adopted their three youngest siblings. Katrina’s surviving children are Naphtali Samio (wife, Melissa), Ramiah Moses (husband, Caleb), Abigail Taylor (husband, Alex; son, Callum), Gabrielle Anders (husband, Joseph; son Lincoln), Nathaniel Hammett (wife, Heather; sons, Westyn and Hudson; daughter, Taytum), Leah Hwang (husband, Junho), Samuel Hammett (and Jess Biles), Miriam Hammett, Simeon Hammett, Adrianna Hammett, and Naomi Hammett.

Katrina was a loving sister, mother, aunt, devoted teacher and friend, who brightened the lives of so many around her. She was courageous in her strength and resilience to weather the most unimaginable storms, always rising to the new day as warm and bright as the shining sun.

She dedicated her life to being the absolute best Mama she could be, always so proud and supportive, bragging on all of her children to anyone who would listen. Katrina was so excited for the next chapter of her life, being a grandmother and helping us to raise our babies.

Mama is forever in our lives, minds, and hearts, as we all aspire to know the kind of true kindness, love, and generosity she lived and practiced each day of her life. She had a heart too big for this world and gave everything she had, even if it left her with very little at times. Katrina loved Jesus, singing hymns, and had a laugh that will echo in our hearts for an eternity. We love you, Mama. Shine down bright.

Services will be held at the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on March 21, 2023. Viewing service will be at 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. The full street address is 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
