Lana Peake Murray

CHAPIN – Funeral services for Lana Rae Peake Smith Murray, 71, will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Caughman-Harman Funeral home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. The services will be conducted by The Rev. Patrick Hollohan and assisting will be the Rev. Steve Kittreal and the Rev. Chuck Byrd. Pallbearers will be the men of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Lake Murray Evangelical Church, 501 Murray Lindler Road, Chapin, SC 29036.

Mrs. Murray was born January 18, 1944 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Robert H. Peake Sr. and Virginia Lee Powell Peake.

Surviving are her daughters, Tanya Smith Baker and friend, David Flowers, Rachel Murray Bowers (Brandon) and Jane Smith Holmes; sons, David Earl Smith, Jr., John B. Murray, Jr. (Laura), Donald A. Murray (Paula), Jeffery S. Murray (Nonita); brothers, Ernie Peake and Carey B. Peake, Sr. (Karen) and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, David E. Smith, Sr. and John B. Murray, Sr.; brother, Bobby Peake; sister, Janie L. Williams. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her beloved friends, Jody Garmon, Daphne Frazier and Agape Hospice.
