LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Lanny R. Cope 72, of Lexington, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at Red Bank Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Cope was born April 8, 1941 in Bennettsville, SC and passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014. He was the son of the late Sadie Davis. Mr. Cope was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. He worked for the South Carolina Department of Transportation in the Maintenance Department for 28 years. He also was employed with Blanchard Machinery and Jeff Hunt Machinery.
Mr. Cope is survived by his wife, Mamie Lou Cope of Lexington; sons, Lanny Ross Cope, Jr., James Wesley Lewis, Sr. (Rachel), Shannon Dwayne Lewis; daughter, Kimberley Dawn Cope and son, Matthew Ryan Cope; grandchildren, Victoria Anne Lewis, James Wesley Lewis, Jr. and Savannah Nicole Lewis.
