

Lois Marie Shull Raneri, 87, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 in her niece’s home surrounded by family and love. Marie was born in Columbia, SC on February 19, 1938 to the late Lois Margaret Kelly Shull and Perry Kaminer Shull, Sr. She is the widow of John Russell Raneri and they resided in White Plains, New York.
She retired to Hilton Head Island in 1993, most recently in Sun City Hilton Head. Marie was a graduate of Columbia High School. She was employed by the Bank of New York for 33 years and retired as a Vice President. She was a member of The Business and Professional Women’s Club, The Sons of Italy and many other Italian Organizations.
Lois was a strong independent lady who lived an amazing life. She loved to travel and through her work with the Sons of Italy, the group had a private meeting with the Pope and she got to shake his hand, a memory that she forever held dear and the picture remains hanging in her home. Marie was a faithful servant to her Lord. She was a member of North Island Baptist Church in Hilton Head.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers; Perry Kaminer Shull, Jr, and Johnny Pierce Shull; sisters, Margaret Ann Shull and Alice Faye Shull Cook; nephews, Ronald William Cook, Jr. and James Brent Shull.
She is survived by her nephews, Perry Kaminer Shull, III, Brian A. Shull (Rayanne), and John Phillip Shull (Ashley); her devoted niece and namesake, Tami Marie Cook Hinson (Gregg) with whom she always had a very special bond and who lovingly cared for her for many years; great-nephews Jackson William Hinson (Alex), Landon Ronald Hinson, William Cullen Cook, Brent Shull and Matthew Shull; great-nieces Mayson Elizabeth Cook and Savannah Shull; great, great-nephews Riley David Hinson and Hilton Harold Hinson who was born on her birthday. Marie is also survived by her beloved cousin Nettie Neeley White. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews from the Raneri side of the family.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Caughman Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Dr., Lexington, SC 29072, with burial to follow in St. David Lutheran Church cemetery.
