
LEXINGTON – A graveside service for Louise Moore Montgomery, 93, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 400 River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 or a pet shelter of your choice.
Mrs. Montgomery was born February 21, 1919 in Richmond, VA and passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Edward Charles Moore, Sr. and Louella Weeks Moore. Mrs. Montgomery moved to Orlando, FL where she spent most of her childhood until eventually coming home to South Carolina in the North Augusta area where she met and married G. W. “Bill” Montgomery. They moved to Lake Murray in the late 30’s and had 2 children. Mrs. Montgomery retired from Savannah River Plant (DuPont) at Aiken and loved to travel and take care of her many pets. Louise and Bill enjoyed Western Square dancing and belonged to several clubs in the state.
She is survived by Tom and Linda Montgomery of Lake Murray and Patty M. and Larry Rauch of Lexington. She had 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Charles Moore, Jr. and Thomas Weeks Moore; her husband, Bill Montgomery and a great-granddaughter, Isabel Addy Kessler.
