Lou was born in Monroe, NC to Annie Mae and Walter Roberts. He was an accomplished athlete in multiple sports with a strong passion for basketball and golf. He would later share his talents and wisdom by coaching and mentoring young athletes. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in physical education and obtained his masters in mathematics. He was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed attending football games with his wife Sandy and their many close friends.
Lou created a distinguished career as a teacher and department head of mathematics at A.C. Flora High School where he positively impacted the minds and lives of countless students. His affinity for numbers led him to form a thriving tax business to aid his community in their financial needs. Outside of the classroom, he was a devoted husband and father. Lou loved spending time with his family and close friends who all revere him. He was a man of God and a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered as patient, kind, dependable, honorable, and beloved by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and illuminated any room he entered. Lou found joy in all things such as good food, traveling, classic rock concerts, Gamecock sports, golf, playing basketball with his buddies, and making memories with those he loved most.
