Born on April 22, 1929, in Elloree, South Carolina, she passed away on March 20, 2026. Tish was 96 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Rourk, Sr., and Mary Louise Seay Rourk. She was the widow of James Milford Sox. Tish was preceded by her siblings, Jimmie Lee Rourk, Ruth Rourk Thweatt, Columbine Rourk Martin, John Henry Rourk, Jr., James Isaac Rourk, Sr., Clarence Pascal Rourk and Edward Harmon Rourk.
She was a member of St. David Lutheran Church and was actively involved in their Young at Heart program and also participated in the Oak Grove Family and Community Club. She was a homemaker and raised her two sons with the help of their other mother, Speedy. She retired from Aetna Life Insurance.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her two sons with a no-nonsense practical upbringing, but very generous. She cherished her grandchildren. Tish will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, James Ronald “Ronnie” (Angelia) Sox and David Timothy (Beth) Sox; grandchildren, Jamie (Jamie) Sox, Kelsey (Orlando) Gravina and Parker (Abbey) Sox; great-grandchildren, Brayden Sox, Weston Sox, Daniel Sox, Nathan Son and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank some special caregivers from Wellmore of Lexington that showed kindness; nurse K.D., nurse Diana and CNA Sarah, as well as MSA Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. David Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
