Margaret Dawson Jumper

WEST COLUMBIA – Margaret Dawson Jumper (Toot/Tut Tut was born August 26, 1934 in West Columbia, SC and passed away Monday, October 9, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Theodore Dawson, Sr. and Gertrude Lynch Dawson. She graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She was married for 40 years to Warren Craig Jumper until his passing in 2014. She retired from Lexington State Bank to become a vital part of Drafts & Jumper/Architects, now known as Jumper Carter Sease/Architects, managing the business for over three decades. She was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Her service in the church over the years includes teaching Sunday school, Church Council, President of WELCA, and numerous committees that served others. Margaret will be remembered for her loving and generous giving spirit. She always enjoyed showering her family and friends with delicious cakes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with interment in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or charity of one’s choice.

Ms. Jumper is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kitchens (Brent); grandchildren, Maura and Addison Kitchens of Wilmington, NC; nephews, Tommy T. Dawson III (Judy) of West Columbia, Brad A. Dawson (Deborah) of Columbia; niece, Sherry D. Jones (John) of Mt. Pleasant; great-nephews, Tom and Chris Dawson; great-nieces, Hannah Jones, Amber Dawson, Michelle Lee; great-great-nieces, Vera Dawson, Brittany and Lauren Mitchell. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas T. Dawson, Jr. (and Margie) and sister, Emily Dawson White (and Lamar).
