Marianna Doll Tavenner

Marianna Tavenner was born in Bethlehem, PA to Joseph George and Kathryn Frances Doll. As a senior in high school she moved with her family to Los Angeles, CA, where she eventually married and raised five children. She had a twenty-five year career in mortgage loan servicing, and was highly respected by her colleagues. Even after retiring, she continued to foster the friendships she had developed and treasured among her former colleagues.

Marianna is preceded in death by her sister, Nora (Doll) Lokey, and her brother, Joseph Doll, Jr. She is survived by her five children: Deborah (Tavenner) and Howard K. Raines, Thomas and Roberta Tavenner, Janina (Tavenner) and Sulaiman Al-Soomali, James Tavenner, and Kathryn (Tavenner) and Dwight Pauley. Additionally, two very special nieces are considered among the siblings: Nora Kahlil and Nicole Doll.

As a loving matriarch and touchstone, she is also survived by eleven grandchildren: James Arthur, Kevin, Samantha, Amani, Abdulla, Tahani, Soomaya, Nadia, James Edward, Trenton, and her namesake, Marianna Pearl. She was additionally blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Jordan, Julia, Noora, Sulaiman (II), Rakan, Aisha, Layla, Ayah, Fay, and Jamsey.

Mom, Grandma, Grams, Grammy, Aunt Mimi, Grandma-Mimi, Grand-Mimi, Marianna, Friend, Confidant, Counselor, and Mom-T are how she was known to the many souls who loved her, and whom she counted herself blessed to love in return. Everyone who came to her could count on compassion, understanding, and unconditional love.
