Mary Gibert Parnell, 87, of Lexington, SC passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 after a long illness. Mrs. Parnell was born in rural Abbeville County, SC, daughter of the late Archie Kennedy Gibert and Annie Ruth Voyles Gibert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brooks Parnell.
Surviving are sons, Ken (Georgiana) of Columbia and Keith (Sonya) of Sandy Run; sister, Lou Ann Walker of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Erin Parnell, Kennedy (Cathy) Parnell, and Brice Parnell; great-grandchildren, Wesley Porter, Morgan and Jillian Parnell; and daughter-in-law, Lynn Robertson (Dennis).
Mary was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and Forrest College Business School. Mary loved to play golf with her friends and was an accomplished pianist. She was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church and the Lexington Country Club Ladies Golf Association.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 698 Mt Carmel Rd, Abbeville, SC 29620, with visitation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
