LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Michael Wayne Nevitt, 65, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Owls and God Rockz at St. James Lutheran Church.
Mr. Nevitt was born March 27, 1946 in Louisville, KY and passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. He was a son of the late Russell Aroya Nevitt and Lillie Mae Bratcher Nevitt. Mr. Nevitt was retired from W. R. Medlin Company. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, member of Masonic Lodge # 412 of Springdale, Past Member of Jamil Shrine Temple and St. James Lutheran Men “Owls”. Mr. Nevitt served in the SC National Guard.
Mr. Nebitt is survived by his wife, Cora H. Nevitt; daughter, Carey E. Hands of Keysport, NJ; step daughter, Teresa L. Hornsby of Anderson, SC; son, Michael R. Nevitt of Keysport, NJ; step son, A. Craig Jeffcoat of Aiken, SC; brother, Stephen R. Nevitt of Columbia, SC; sister, Abbey L. Nevitt of Columbia, SC; one granddaughter and four grandsons.
