Patricia Spradley Monts

Patricia Spradley Monts, 88, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Lexington, South Carolina. Born on April 16, 1937, in Columbia, South Carolina, she lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, faith, and community.

A proud graduate of Columbia High School, Patricia went on to build a successful career as a technician with Scana Energy before retiring. She was one of Scana’s first graduates of the company’s Career Advancement Program which prepared female employees for technical careers.

Patricia was deeply devoted to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Carl D. Kaminer (Mary) of Chapin and Mark R. Kaminer (Audrey) of Lexington; a sister, Nancy Rice of Altamont Springs, FL, and a loving sister-in-law, Debra Blackmore. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kenneth Kaminer, Beth Morgan, Allen Kaminer, Jake Kaminer, Lance Kaminer, Lauren Ard, and Hunter Ard; great-grandchildren, Cierra, A.J., Kade, Katie Grace, Ashlyn, Eden, Shepherd, Sky, Landon, Dominic, Maverick, and Malachi; great-great-grandchildren, Cameran and Nyria; and nieces, Claudia Beetlestone (Stuart) and Andrea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. “Bill” Monts Jr., and her great-grandchild, Madison Morgan.

Patricia found joy in creative pursuits such as cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, and needlepointing—activities that reflected her attention to detail and love for preserving memories. She was also an avid fan of Nascar Racing and Clemson football games and rarely missed the chance to cheer on her team.

Her faith played a central role in her life. Patricia was a longtime member of St. David Lutheran Church in Lexington and actively participated in the church’s Young at Heart group. Her presence within the congregation was marked by warmth and fellowship.

May Patricia’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on August 16, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at St. David Lutheran Church, 132 St. Davids Church Rd, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. David Lutheran Church.
