
COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Peter “Niko” Sirignano, 49, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Pallbearers will be Stephen D. Rogers, Paige Covington, Jeffery Shelton, Edna Nadon and Kurt Watter and Regi. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus and the Special Olympics.
Mr. Sirignano was born on April 10, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY and passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. He was the son of Vincent Sirignano and Gloria Nicotera Sirignano.
Mr. Sirignano was a 4th Degree Member with the Knights of Columbus, Council 724. He was a volunteer coach with the Special Olympics where he started the Bocce team and expanded the bowling team to what it is today. He also started the Joseph F. Sirignano Foundation which raises funds to help assist with sports education programs for Special Olympics. He was a very loving and kind father and was very generous and giving to the homeless and many other charities.
Mr. Sirignano is survived by his brother, Jim Sirignano (Laurie) of Union Beach, NJ; sons, Jude Peter Sirignano and Denver Murray from Columbia, SC and James Daily from Columbia, SC; nephew, Vinny Sirignano of Union Beach, NJ and best friend, Albert Riccio of Lexington, SC. He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph F. Sirignano.
