Richard Dawkins

Richard Dawkins, 57, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. Born on June 21, 1967, in Rock Hill, SC, Richard moved to Lexington in 1985, where he made a home and built lasting memories with his beloved family.

Richard was a dedicated family man, and he took great pride in the time spent with his loved ones. His family was always at the center of his world, and his presence brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He was also an avid cook, often found in the kitchen creating meals that were as heartwarming as they were delicious. Another of his great passions was working on cars, a hobby that allowed him to connect with others and learn about the intricacies of mechanics.

Richard was the son of Patt Collins and the late Randy Dawkins. He is survived by wife, Pam Dawkins; his daughter, Dawnleigh Dawkins; stepson, Robert Kaminer; stepfather, John Collins; and his brothers, Andy Dawkins and Danny Dawkins. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends who will remember him for his warm spirit, generous heart, and love of life.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held April 25th, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 235 Pine Grove Road, Leesville, SC, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. Visitation will be at 2:00 pm with a service at 3:00 pm.
