Roy E. “Papa Roy” Lindler, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020. He was born on September 2, 1930 in Little Mountain, SC, to the late Annie Mae Frick and Frank Jacob Lindler.
Papa Roy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Green Electric Company and co-owner of R&R Electric Company. He loved to dove hunt, fish and garden. Papa was the go to person to fix anything.
He is survived by his daughters, Becky (Randy) Wise and Nancy (Jamie) Addison; stepchildren, Randy (Margaret) Padgett, Gayle (Grey) Addy, Pam (Ron) Shealy; grandchildren, Abby (Billy) Dugan, Mandy Wise; step-grandchildren, Kellye (Mark) Hafner, Kane (Tonya) Padgett, Doug Addy, Sommer (Bill) Lewis, Sydney (Brandon) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jake Dugan, Karl Dugan; step-great-grandchildren, Annalise Hafner, Justin Hafner, Rowan Padgett, Landon (Gigi) Lewis, Amelia Johnson, Margot Johnson, Edmond Johnson and sister, Wylene Smith. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Harmon Lindler; ex-wife, Betty Y. Lindler and his brother, Everett Lindler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Pond Branch United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Pallbearers are Bradley Craps, Kane Padgett, Doug Addy, Bill Lewis, Dennis Harmon and Carroll Wingard.
