Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles Maxwell Snyder and Alexine “Lexie” Lowman Snyder and was married to the love of her life, the late James Perry Kimball, for over 50 years.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina, she taught middle school in Columbia, making lifelong friends with her fellow teachers and using her teacher’s heart in all of her endeavors. A lifelong Gamecock fan, she and Perry never missed an opportunity to support USC, as Lifetime Donors, with their legendary Carolina-Clemson parties, and attending games home and away.
To know Sheri was to be seen, heard, and valued. She never met a stranger and her legacy of lifting others up lives on in those she enriched with her thoughtfulness, laughter, and unstoppable spirit. After a move to Lake Murray in the early 1970’s, she embraced life as a Lexingtonian dedicated to serving the community through things great and small, done always with much love. Sheri was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and faithfully served on many committees, the Lexington Woman’s Club, serving in many leadership capacities, and the Garden Club of Lexington, entering and judging floral designs across the state as a Master Flower Show Judge.
She is survived by her three daughters, Teri Lee Kimball Callen of Columbia, Heather Kimball Ramsey (Jason) of Davidson, NC, Lexanne Kimball Graves (Scott) of Blythewood; five grandchildren, Jacob Kimball Ramsey, Ava Perry Callen, Jordan Kennedy Ramsey, Anna Leigh Graves, and Wesley Scott Graves, Jr., three nieces, many cousins, and a wide circle of friends and community members who miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her sister, Vicki Snyder Caughman, and a grandchild, Doren Rackley Ramsey.
