LEXINGTON – A memorial service for Stanley Keith Ammons, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Ammons was born April 5, 1942 in Spartanburg, SC and lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was the son of the late Franklin Herbert Ammons and Thelma Mae Turner Ammons. Mr. Ammons was an avid golfer. He taught visually impaired students, retired from South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind, and also retired from Lexington School District 1. He played basketball for Wofford College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He also held a Master’s Degree from USC.
Mr. Ammons is survived by his son, Damon Keith Ammons (Jennifer Hanna); daughter, Lindsey Leigh Ammons (Morgan Blake King); grandchildren, Kaylor Golden, Coleman and William Ammons. He is predeceased by one sister, P. June Ammons.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
