

Stephen Flay Barnes, a cherished son, husband, father, and grandfather, returned to the embrace of the Lord on June 26, 2023, at the age of 70. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed. Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Jean Martin Barnes; his devoted wife of 50 years, Kimber Emory Barnes; his daughter, Amy Barnes; his son, Ryan Barnes; his daughter-in-law, Allison Barnes; and his adored grandchildren, Jesse and Anna Barnes.
Stephen's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to others as a teacher, mentor, and source of encouragement. He dedicated his time and energy to ensuring that the needs of those around him were met, imparting the value of hard work and dedication along the way. With a background in the machining industry, Stephen applied that precision to all aspects of his life, leaving nothing untouched.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Stephen found joy in the artistry of woodworking, reveling in the process of creation and craftsmanship. He embraced the beauty and peace of the outdoors and enjoyed the art of the deal. Meticulous in all his pursuits, he took pride in maintaining impeccable order within his sphere of influence. The indelible imprint he left on this world will forever be cherished by all who love and miss him.
The Family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 to celebrate the life of Stephen.
