Born October 10, 1940, in Alexandria, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Dillard Ringen Monsees and Frances Lorraine (Biedler) and the wife of the late Robert John Maghan, III.
Sue grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Washington-Lee High School and Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing. She and her husband Bob were married on June 14, 1962, and they celebrated 57 years together. They were loved by many as the owners and operators of Hite’s Restaurant in Lexington from 1980 to 1997. She also delighted in serving others as a volunteer at Lexington Medical Center for 40 years and as a family mentor for the Courage Center substance recovery program.
