William Michael Rawls Sr.

William Michael “Mike” Rawls, Sr. passed away peacefully at Oakleaf Village Assisted Living in Lexington, SC on December 23, 2024 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease (which he had for 21 years).

Mike was born in Hagerstown on June 19, 1946 and was the oldest child of Richard William Rawls and Helen Rose Rowe. He attended North Hagerstown High School where he played football. Mike graduated from high school in 1964. He went on to work as a Sales Executive in the men’s clothing industry for 20 years. After that he opened his own business as a Real Estate Appraiser.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard William Rawls; his mother, Helen Rose Rowe Rawls; and his sister, Julie Rawls Cauffman. He is survived by his son, William Michael “Mick” Rawls, Jr. (Heather); his daughter, Victoria Elaine “Torie” Allen (John); six grandchildren: Alyssa Rawls, Anderson “Andy” Rawls, Ansley Rawls, Emma Allen, Alexandra “Alex” Allen, and Madison “Madi” Allen; a brother, L. Richard Rawls (Kathy); a sister, Jodie Rawls Harper; a brother-in-law, Tommy Cauffman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a private interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Clear Spring, Maryland at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (https://give.michaeljfox.org/).
