

LEXINGTON – Windell Harmon, 82, of Lexington, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully at home on Monday, October 7, 2013. Born on September 1, 1931 to the late Robert and May Shealy Harmon. Windell was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Adult 1 Sunday School Class, Men and Loving Group. Windell retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas with 36 years of service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening.
A celebration of Windell’s life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joann Corley Harmon; daughter, Melinda Harmon Gilbert (Dave); son, Brent Windell Harmon (Shelia); granddaughters, Heather Gilbert and Anna Marie Harmon; great-granddaughter, Emerson Reese Watts; sisters, Marcia Keller, Frances Snelgrove, Peggy Howard (Frank) and Ann Rowell. Predeceased by his brothers, Royce Buster Harmon and Franklin Harmon. The family would like to give a special loving thanks to Lorraine Hopkins, for all the loving care she gave to Windell and his family and also to Amedisys Hospice especially to Laura and Lisa.
