

Carolyn Sue Hudlemeyer of Liberty, MO, passed peacefully on February 26, 2026 at age 83. Carolyn was born to her parents Logan Francis Hudlemyer and Buena Ferne Hudlemeyer of Liberty, Missouri, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Gary Lane Hudlemeyer (Coco); her nieces, Kelly Fotopoulos (James), Megan Brown, Katie Hudlemeyer, Molly Slaughter (Frank), Kerry Jorn (Aaron), Emily Hudlemeyer, Cassie Chisam (Chris), and Logan Penney (Bobby); her great nieces and nephews, Jason, Chloe, Wesley, Taylor, Aiden, Brady, Caleb, Adison, Page, Jake, Nick, Emma, Saylor, and Sawyer; her great-great nephews, Waylon and Grayson; and many cousins.
Carolyn attended Providence Elementary, a one-room country school. She attended Liberty High School and CMSU College where she received a Master's in Special Education and Elementary Education. During her life, Carolyn was defined by her love of people as demonstrated by 44 years of teaching special and elementary education in the Kansas City School District. Carolyn was never married but always treated her students as her own children. Carolyn was influenced by her own mother who taught for 37 years in a one-room country school in Clay County, Missouri.
Carolyn was born on a small farm in Liberty which resulted in her love of many farm animals, chickens, dogs, and cats. She loved to garden and always loved her many flowers and vegetable beds that she planted each spring. She loved fishing and camping in Canada. She played the organ in church for several years. She was a great cook, loved to work, and was always very dependable. She loved people and would do anything for them. Carolyn was very much respected and deeply loved by her nieces and nephews and she adored and loved them all and would do anything for them. She loved making people happy.
In memory of Carolyn, please plant a favorite tree or flower. She will be deeply missed. Carolyn's funeral services will be on Thursday, March 5th at Church Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11am-noon and her celebration of life service will be noon-1pm. Burial will follow at Providence Church Cemetery at 12206 N. Stark Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri (Near Liberty).
Our family would like to thank Addington Place at Shoal Creek and Monarch Hospice for their care and dedication they had for Carolyn. The dear staff members were so loving to her during her stay there.
