

John Gary Huber, born April 3, 1943 in Devils Lake, ND departed on May 9 2021. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Troy and Deb’s house in Liberty, MO on Saturday, May 15th at 2:30pm. The family has requested guests wear blue and green for his love of Notre Dame and Green Bay.
John started his bakery career in Grand Forks, ND and proceeded to move south. He married Joan (Olson) in 1966. He started with Hy-Vee bakery in 1975 in Marshalltown, IA and then move to Iowa Falls, IA as a bakery manager. He retired from the Maryville, MO Hy-Vee in 1987 and then bought the Bear Trap Lounge in Bellevue, NE, which he renamed to Mr. J’s. He sold the bar and went back to work at Hy-Vee in Omaha. He transferred to Liberty Hy-Vee in 2000 and retired in 2018.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Huber of New Rockford, ND; his children, Teri Emery of Kansas City, MO, Troy (Deb) Huber of Liberty, MO, and Tammy (John) Larson of Papillion, NE; his grandchildren, Tess Farnan, Dakoda Emery, Jerece (Brady) Tolson, Samantha Emery, Champagne Murphy, Bobbie Huber, Rachel Larson, and Abby Larson; his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Leah, Landon, Emmy, Malia, Tucker, Tessa, Trisha, Kyle, Ethan, Evan, Tyson, and Dallas; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John is proceeded in death by his mother Elizabeth, father George, sister Marie, brothers Frank and Joe, son Stan, and grandson Nicholas.
John was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all.
