
Kazuko (Kay) Takeda Sprague, age 85 of Liberty, MO passed away in her home with her children by her side on May 11, 2014. She was born on January 31, 1929 in Yokohama, Japan. She was a member of the Flack Memorial Church of Excelsior Springs, MO. Several years ago Kay was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. She was strong in her battle with the disease and in everything she encountered in her life. Kazuko was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William D Sprague and her daughter, Karen Kay Hylton, her parents, Mitsu and Yosaku Takeda, and brothers Yoichi and Tatsuya Takeda. She leaves behind her son, Freddy Sprague; daughter, Cathy Greer; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy & David Norris; brother Keiji Takeda, and nieces and nephews here and in Japan, sister in laws and their husbands, Gloria & Bill Gossett and Barbara & James Moore; grandchildren: Max and Sarah Deal, Jacob Deal, Matthew and Marshall Hylton, Jennifer Sprague; great grandchildren: Kae-Lynn and Kylee Deal. She loved her family with all her heart and we all will miss her very much. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Liberty Hospital Cancer Center or the MDS Foundation 4573 South Broad St. Suite 150 Yardville, NJ 08620. Visitation 6-8 pm at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home in Liberty MO on Wed May 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Church- Archer-Pasley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
