Larry Allen Elmore, 74, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away May 6, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Services with Fire Departmental and Military Honors will be held June 18th from 11:00-1:00pm at the Earnest Shepherd Memorial Youth Center, 610 Shepherd Rd, Liberty, MO 64068.
Larry was born March 13, 1948 in Lexington, Missouri to Orland and Elnore Elmore. He graduated from Lexington High School. Larry was then drafted and served in the Air Force from 1968 – 1970 and earned the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, Larry resided in California and had his first child, Heather.
He moved back to Missouri in the 1970’s and earned his certification as a Paramedic and worked for Liberty and the surrounding area. Larry married Kelly Sutton in 1988. With this union, he adopted his second daughter, Amy. He retired from the Fire Department in 2008. Larry was an avid motorcycle rider and went to Sturgis whenever he could. He loved animals and was a doting father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland and Elnore Elmore.
Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kelly Elmore; his daughters, Heather O’Bier (Michael), and Amy Barchers (Kent); his four grandsons; as well as many friends, other relatives, and his corgi, Lottie.
