Maurine Gibson Constant

Maurine Gibson Constant, 97, of Liberty, Missouri passed away January 26, 2017. A celebration of life will be held at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 31, 2017, with visitation one hour before. Burial to be at the Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri. Maurine was born on June 22, 1919 in Goehner, Nebraska, the first of four children born to Ray Chalmers Gibson and Beulah Proffit Gibson. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Ralph O. Constant; her parents, Ray Chalmers Gibson and Beulah Proffit Gibson; one sister Betty Gibson Hillen; and two brothers, Kenneth E. Gibson and John Gibson. Maurine is survived by one daughter, Joyce Louise Meyer and husband Robert (Bob) of Liberty, Missouri; grandson, Richard Meyer of Liberty, Missouri; granddaughter, Terri Lynn Hook and Tracy of Parkville, Missouri; granddaughter Sherri Kay Selph and Husband, Patrick of Springfield, Missouri; two great-grandsons, Travis Selph and Austin Selph of Springfield, Missouri; two step-great granddaughters, Christy Turner and husband Lee of Kansas City, Missouri and Courtney Hook of Warrensburg, Missouri; one niece, Karen Hull and husband, Mike of Raymore, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors. Maurine enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening. Maurine graduated in 1938 from Savannah High School in Savannah, Missouri. She worked as a nurse at the Dr. Nichols Sanatorium in Savannah, Missouri in her early adulthood. Maurine loved life and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
