
Patsy Sue Maxwell, age 92, formerly of Vandalia died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, in Liberty, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at the Vandalia Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015, with Rev. Bob Hoehn, officiating. Patsy was born on September 18, 1922, in Curryville, Missouri, the daughter of Forest and Janice Bratcher Brown. She married Elvin C. Maxwell on April 24, 1949, who survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Linda S. Jones and son-in-law, Larry D. Jones of Kansas City; three grandchildren Ken (Sheryl) Jones of Austin, Texas, Doug (Gina) Jones of Kansas City and Beth (Ted) Hopkins of Milan, Michigan; eight great-grandchildren, Rylie, Skyler and Grady Jones of Austin, Texas, Logan, Zoe and Olivia Jones of Kansas City and Thomas and Emilia Hopkins of Milan, Michigan, and one brother, Cleo F. Brown of Columbia, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Nelson Brown. She was a homemaker and the cafeteria supervisor at the elementary school for a number of years. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a servant’s heart who gave of herself to all she knew. Few memories exist where she wasn’t doing something for someone—family, friends or strangers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, reading and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
