Yesterday was a bitter sweet day for me, remembering our friendship.  We met at IA in Independence, Mo. and became best friends.  I miss you everyday as you talked me out of retirement and talked me into working with Gillis School with you.  You said Gillis School needed me and you were right.  I have enjoyed my job working there but am retiring after 8 years.  It's not the same without you by my side and helping me with computer issues.  lol  I have kept in contact with Louise (Facebook) but not the boys.  I hope they are doing good.  You also, became a sorority sister with me  I asked you to an event and you joined Preceptor Theta Eta with me.  We attended conventions and several Beta Sigma Phi events together.  I even talked you into offices.  Take care my dear fried.  Love you foreve!r.

Toni, I miss you.  I miss the nights of watching movies and eating brownies, game nights, and all the visits you made to see me in California.  I miss when our kids were little, watching them play together.  I miss being able to pick up the phone and call you.  I hope you are happy.  You aren’t suffering anymore.  I hope that Andrew, Louise, and Eric are at peace.

How do you sum up 50 years of memories in one post? It would take at least one book. There were so many shared moments and interests—old movies, belly dance, cooking and enjoying good food, watching Perry Mason, going to see The Phantom of the Opera, yoga, debating art, politics, literature, going to Penzey’s for spices, swimming, going with Toni when she got her foot tattoo, laughing, traveling—to Mexico and to Arizona, my heart is overflowing and it’s breaking. Rest In Peace dear friend. 

Toni was a fun and caring friend.  I remember her always being there through thick and thin.  When I lived in San Clemente she flew out to stay with me and we had so much.  She gave me a perm, and she had her hair short and sassie.  She looked so cute!

Brownies make everything better, doesn’t matter whether it’s high school years or adult.  We shared many pans of brownies and shared lots of tears.

When my grandma died, I  was a mother with kids of my own and Toni came to my home and helped me.  My grandmother was  really an important person to me .  We ate a pan of brownies and cried.

Mrs Allen, thank you for helping me find my brighter future. Thank you for not only being my teacher, but as well as a mother figure, and friend when each role was ever needed. You were more then just a teacher to me. Thank you for all the lessons, lectures, but most importantly love. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I am going to miss you so dearly! 



I met Toni when she began working at Independence Academy. I had been at IA for a while, so I helped Toni get comfortable.Toni was going through a divorce at this time, and I was  recently divorced. So we were able to support each other. We became good friends. I had the privilege of taking Toni to get her first (and only) tattoo. I held her hand and cracked jokes to help ease the pain. Of course, Toni was brave and a real trooper through the entire process. Besides IA, Toni and I worked together at Gillis; we've been friends for quite awhile. She was always there ready to listen or help. Such a beautiful, loyal friend. You are already missed. I will be praying for healing for your  children, grandchildren and family. Until we meet again. Love you. 


I had the honor of working with Toni at Gillis.  No matter what she was doing, Toni always took time to hug a child that needed extra attention.  She seemed to invariably know the answer to anything I asked, and she did so with a beautiful smile.  Toni's Gillis family will miss her.  



I worked at Independence Academy with Toni as her Para and I’m deeply saddened by her sudden loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family.

I had the pleasure of sharing front office space with Toni when she took up the position of receptionist and attendance clerk.  Every day we chatted "around the wall" that partially separated us, and we became good friends as we shared personal and work-related stories.  Toni was a kindhearted and caring woman.  Her passing has left a void in the Gillis School family, and I am sorely missing my friend.  I pray that Toni is at peace, and I pray for her family.

So sorry for your loss. Toni was a legend in kayak circles for her handcrafted vessel.  She'll be missed. 

I shared this photo  on Facebook.  Toni was a beloved and beautiful soul and a member of our school team for eight years. She was a classroom teacher and then moved to receptionist, med tech, and attendance clerk. Toni was so caring and treated everyone with kindness and respect. Our school will miss her very much.

Toni was one of my best friends.  We both had medical issues and helped each other with them.  Before the Covid 19 we spent a lot of time going to the movies and out to eat.  We joked that she was Mike's second wife.  I got her involved with Beta Sigma Phi which she enjoyed.  For a while we came to work together until she changed her position at Gillis.  Toni and I were always their for each other no matter what.  I am heartbroken on her passing and am praying for Andrew, Louise, Eric and family.

Toni Allen was a true Beta Sigma Phi.  She was a beautiful soul and will be sorely missed.  My Condolences to the family.  Rest in Peace.
