A whole year has pass by and it's still hard to believe you are gone we all miss you so much, but I know where your spending eternity , love you cuz You will forever be missed!

My heart was crushed to hear you had passed what a wonderful friend you were to us.  But I know GOD needed you home he has a job for you.  You will  always be in our hearts and just a prayer away. Walter was always willing to help and be a blessings to others. My dear friend of 21 years will be greatly missed.

Junn (this is how he spelled his nickname) is one of my all-time faves. He married one of my best friends, and always laughed at everything I said.  He had soul in his stroll, glide in his stride and dip in his hip.  Loved his "threads". And he was NICE.    I can see he was appreciated by many before he left us. That's a good thing. Let's all be glad we knew the Junn Bug.

The passing of Walt has saddened me, he was a very good friend and it is easy to remember the early years because of his energy and humor. Reading the comments, he was a wonderful family man and father. My prayers go out to all of the family and  may God bless

I was so sorry to hear of Walter's passing.  I remember his enthusiasm for life and that he almost always had something funny to add to a conversation and had an infectious smile and laugh.  He was in my sister's high school class, but I had the pleasure of getting to know him as a freshman when he was a senior. There is a lot in that name. To everyone who knew Walt, or Junn, he captivated the hearts of all our lives on a deep and meaningful level. He was a great husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle, brother n law and friend to so many. Walt was my brother in Christ and a true and cherished, beloved friend. I will miss him dearly, as all of us here today will. Walt left a lasting impression on my life that I will never forget. His uplifting spirit and words of encouragement will forever be etched on my heart. His kind and gentle soul left a legacy for all to remember. There wasn't anything Walt wouldn't do for people; he was just that type of human being a true example of being the hands and feet of Jesus. We lost a great man, but heaven gained a true soldier. It is still so hard to me to accept this as a reality.....I just can't seem to come to terms with the fact that you are gone! It seems like yesterday that we were in church and you would come to the back were we where with the kids and give the boys a hard time but put a smile on there face because they knew that their cousin June was there!  You were always willing to go the extra mile and go above and beyond for anyone and everyone.....as it saddens me to have to say see you later I know that you are in a better place and are so much better! You work here is done Walt and you will forever be missed.....you may be gone but you will never be forgotten as you are walking around in heaven with our Lord and Savior! One of the many blessings our family has received was joining the We-Mac little league baseball team that Walt helped coach.  His patience, caring spirit, pleasant demeanor (and his ever-present smile!) helped teach valuable life lessons and helped foster lifelong friendships.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Walter was one of the kindest, caring, loving individuals I have every known.  We all grew up in Liberty and the memories of getting together for family picnics and celebrations as well a many LHS events!!! He loved his family very much and was definitely devoted to them daily.  So proud of their accomplishments and life. 
He was so kind to help out with his neices and nephews after his cousin Jim passed, and we were so thankful he was always there for kind words or actions!

I laid awake all night the night we got the news. I was shocked, angry & incredibly sad wondering why God would take a man to heaven who was doing so much good here on earth. 
My answer: God knows what's best even if it breaks our hearts to lose someone we love.
Junn was my 1st cousin by blood, but my brother through love. We had an amazing bond that begin way back when at 407 N Gallatin when 8 kids & 3 strong women lived in a 2 bedroom house. It continued all these years despite distance and trash talking during competitive horseshoe games at the annual family picnic
Walter Williams was good man with a beautiful smile and a kind heart who was also a lot of fun. He was my "oldest teenager". I thought he would live forever. I love you cuz! VET

We played sports together, and bonded like brothers.I not only lost my best friend but he was like a brother to me as well. I love you man, see you on the other side. God bless

I met Walter at age 9 at Garrison School, the first year the schools had become fully integrated.  My family had just moved to Liberty and I had never interacted with anyone of another race.  Being new, I knew virtually nobody. Walter immediately became by best playground friend.  We both loved to box and we would spend all of recess sparing (bare-fisted).  He could have taken my head off but he was always careful not to do so.  He never got upset or irritated; we never had a cross word.  He was always humble and the model of a good sport; we both had a great time.  I quickly came to greatly admire Walter; not only was he my first and best friend in the fourth grade but his example had a huge impact on how I perceived the Black race in an age where there was so much racism.  Walter's life is a powerful example of the very best of humanity.  We desperately need more examples like Walter Williams today. I will never forget!

This man was a one of a kind and first class. Walt has given me much advise over the years and had many laughs together.  The smile and alway joking "Walt" will be missed.

I will miss the Beautiful Smile,He was always there for many people who needed him, He was the definition of friendship, I have known Walt since I was 15 years old, Kansas City will not be the same, Rest In Peace, This is not Goodbye, but See you Later. Miss You

June was a very good friend to me! I idolized him when we were kids in the "Noth End". He was always there with a helping hand or word of encouragement. He will be sorely missed. I pray God's blessings for the family and peace and love to you all.
