

He was a devoted and loving husband, a member of Staley United Methodist Church, and was well known as a bluegrass fiddle player. He retired from Klaussner Furniture after 20 years of service.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Staley United Methodist Church; officiated by Rev. Alex Miles and Rev. Eddie Hill; burial will follow in Staley Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was the son of the late Jessie Calvin and Bertha Langley Marley and was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mozelle Jones, Billie Whitley, Bernice Hepler and Violet Bridges and two brothers, Matthew “Sleepy” Marley and Clarence Marley.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Sarah “Lib” Dickens Marley; sister, Bonnie Ellison; several nieces and nephews including, Larry Boyd Marley, Ronald Ellison, Myrna Nixon, Connie Hedgepath, David McNeill, Tammy Long, Howard McNeill, Brandon and Edward Scott, Mike and Anita Creekman.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Sammy Matthews and Main Street Grill for making sure Fred got breakfast each morning.
