Heart felt sympathy to the Snider Family. Glenn took me on my first real camping trip to the Carolina Beach area back in the day.  I will always remember his great sense of humor.

I love you pawpaw. I'll never forget the talk we had when I came home from Germany to visit for the first time since moving away. I came to visit you and granny at the camp gorund. We talked about what it meant to be home sick. Pawpaw you knew it broke my heart to leave home And be so far away from every one. But you told me it was good for me .  You said " well now you know what your made of ".  I knew I had made you proud. You always said "I treat you like a son". And all your grand daughters were "boy's". Pawpaw I hope that I can continue to make you proud . I hope we all make you proud. Because we're so proud to have had you as our pawpaw. I hope some day I'll be able to tell my kids about how great you were.  Thank you pawpaw for each and every memory.

Glen, you are my father-in-law,and my friend. You and your soulmate, Blanche raised 5 wonderful boys who grew into good strong sensible men. You worked hard all your life to take care of your family, and you spent time with them, showing them how to enjoy life and relax, fishing, and hunting, and having a lot of people over to eat a good meal and shoot the breeze. Family traditions and holidays, and birthdays, and anniversaries were a big part of our life because of you and Blanche. You never stopped teaching us how to be good people, even when you didn't know how much you influenced us. It is so hard to let you go, and that's because we love you so much. I know you went home as we all will. We will always miss you, and wish you were with us. And in some ways you are here, in our hearts , and our memories. On a certain sunday sittin in the swing, thinking about the garden or the fruit orchard, planning that next fishin trip. We will feel you around us at times. When it is our time, we will meet you in the clearing at the end of our path. I won't say goodbye, I'll see ya later paw.

My only regret is we didn't get more time together. Though we never got a moment alone together, I feel as if I know him deeply. From the stories, to the moments I witnessed. I gathered that this man, this incredible man, was not only a joker, but a lover. He loved us more than anything else in this world. The one thing that he thought me, was not even in a sit down lesson. It was something I learned from watching him and my sweet grandmother together, love. Their relationship inspired me to find true, real love someday. I remember walking in his home and hearing his old recliner slam, he was getting up to greet us. "Hey boy." I'll never forget the way my heart sank when I heard the news. You never know how much you love someone until they can't hear it anymore. You were the light In the darkest of rooms. I'm sorry I wasn't as close to you as I should have been. I will forever carry you with me. I love you.

Pawpaw, love is like the wind, we can't see it, but we can feel it. Your are an amazing man, I'm proud to call you grandpa. If I picked one word to describe you, it would be vivacious. You were the first person to feed me real human food (ice cream). You are the glue to our family. You and granny showed me real love by showing it day in and day out. You always wanted to watch after all your grand kids at once, and now you can, your our Guardian Angel. I LOVE YOU.

I'm having the hardest time trying to describe the "Pappaw" that I knew. I know my words will never give him justice, but I will always do my best while describing him. This was my Grandpa and one of the most influential people I've ever met. He possessed all of the traits that I hope to obtain in my life. His needs were as basic as any I have ever seen yet he lived a very rich life, full of love and happiness. In twenty six years I cannot remember one ill word spoken towards me. A smile was sure to follow when you first saw him. He was known for his laid back attitude and great sense of humor. He laughed out loud when he thought something was funny and he never saw a need to complain, even though he had every reason too. At eighty five he could work me in the ground, even with diabetes and partially clotted arteries. He would not be swayed on what he thought was right and he knew hard work better than anyone I know. In the winter he made the best garden vegetable soup that has ever been tasted. You could never find him to far away from my Mammaw. If you saw either one of them the other was sure to be close by. I appreciate all of the time that I was able to spend with him over the years and he will forever live on within the stories and hearts of all of his family and friends. You are one of a kind Pappaw and I know you would have a “fit” if you saw everyone upset over you, so I will try to stay positive and focus on rejoicing in your life.

This is my grandpa. There are no words to describe what he meant to me because it's a feeling, a lifetime of memories. 
Pawpaw was special. He never complained about anything. He always joked and made light of most situations. Without choice, he and my grandma assisted in raising me. I spent a great deal of my childhood at their home. I can't remember pawpaw ever getting mad at me or calling me out for anything. He was the only one in the room as I took my first steps. He taught me to fish, garden and allowed me to stay up under his feet as he laid tile with daddy as his profession. Looking back, surely I was an aggravation...but you'd never know it. 
Pawpaw had two famous quotes "Boy" and "I treat you like a son". He was known for making up his own song lyrics as he drove nearly everywhere.
Watching my grandpa love my grandma taught me how a relationship should be. You take the good with the bad, but hand in hand...you stick it out...together. 
It is clear that this was a well respected, greatly loved man that will be remembered and missed forever. Rest easy pawpaw. We will meet again.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Carl Glenn Snider, and many members of their family at Justin and Emily's wedding on July 13th of 2013. In Sympathy for your loss.
