

Carolyn Freeman Clapp of Julian passed away on December 14, 2010 at her home.
She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a life long supporter of scouting and was awarded The Silver Beaver Award from The Boy Scouts of America. She founded the Cub Scout Pack 401 at Coble’s Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Coble’s Lutheran Church with Pastor David Mielke officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born on February 2, 1953 to the late Julius and Alma Shropshire Freeman.
Surviving is her husband of 39 years, Richard Harold Clapp; her son, Richard Harold Clapp, Jr. (Christine) of Julian; daughter, Crystal L. Clapp of Pleasant Garden; two brothers, Howard Spoon (Carmen) of Oak Ridge and Paul Spoon (Donna) of Greensboro and three grandchildren.
