Ellen Larue Snider Whitaker

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Red Cross Baptist Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service in the church fellowship hall.

She was the daughter of the late, Ross Rhodus and Amelia “Melie” Ann Butner Snider. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Whitaker, Jr., by her sister, Doris Snider Smith and her brothers, Charles R. Snider and Lloyd B. Snider

Surviving are her daughter, Pamela Whitaker and her husband, David J. Craven; son, Richard Whitaker and his wife, Faylene W. Whitaker; four grandchildren, Shane A. Whitaker and his wife, Kelly, Travis K. Whitaker and his wife, Shannon, Jonathan R. Craven and his wife, Heather and Austin N. Craven and his wife, Casey Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Lilly, Chase, Kenly and Peyton Whitaker, and Alice and George Craven

Larue loved nothing more than to be on the beach at Hatteras. It was a love she passed to her family.
