Estella Hoover Murray, 92, formerly of Greensboro passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital. A native of Randolph County, she was a daughter of the late John Duke and Nora Mae Hoover of Farmer, N.C.
She married Henry Bunn Murray, Jr. in 1944 and they had 4 children. They were married 32 years before his death in 1976. Estella was a homemaker and loved her children. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making and collecting dolls, gardening, and reading her Bible.
Survivors include her sons; Kenneth Murray of Siler City, Bennie Murray and wife Eula Mae, Lester Murray and wife Theresa; daughter Stella Joyce Wicker and husband Roy Wicker, Jr. all of Liberty, N.C. She is also survived by sisters; Wilma Patterson of Asheboro, Clara Smith and husband Marshall Smith of Denton, Bevilee Gallimore of Archdale; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Loflin, Essie Shortsleeve; brothers, Wade, Joe, Ben (Sonny) Hoover; and 1 granddaughter Mitzi Murray.
The family will receive friends at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5929 Coble Church Rd. Liberty, N.C. on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
