Eugene "Gene/Sonny" Melvin Coble, Jr.

A graduate of Greensboro Senior High School, Sonny was born October 31, 1933 in Greensboro, N.C. to the late Eugene and Margie Bowman Coble of Julian; daughter, Annette Coble Miller, also precedes him in death

.

Sonny retired from Duke Energy after 37 ½ years of employment and later worked for 13 years with Ford Body Company.

A member of First Baptist Church of Liberty, Sonny is survived by his wife, Patty Bare Coble of Liberty; his daughter, Patricia Lynn Trulove and her husband, “Skip” of Supply, N.C.; stepson, Robbie Deaton, and his wife, Debbie of Arnold, MD; stepdaughter, Ann Deaton Joyce and Bill White of Liberty; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; sister, Louise Sherrill, one niece and nephew all of Wilmington, N.C..

A memorial service will be held on Sunday. August 5, 2012 at

3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Liberty, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 815, Liberty, N.C. 27298.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the wonderful and caring “critical care” nurses and staff of the Wesley Long ICU.
