

George Webster Holder, 68, of Liberty, left his earthly vessel behind Sunday, August 18, 2013, to join Christ his Lord for all eternity. He was born in Randolph County to William Armp & Bertha Hutchens Holder. Left here on earth to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Annie Kathryn Mills Holder; his daughter, Cammie Zaino (Mike) of Charlotte and his son, Chuck Holder of Matthews; three grandchildren, Webster Lee Beal of Charlotte, Matthew Holder of Mint Hill and Haven Holder of Matthews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother, Harry Lee Holder. Surviving siblings are Sandy Ray Holder (Peggy) of Asheboro, Wm. F. Holder (Phyllis) of Liberty, Gaynelle Smith (James) of Julian and Agatha Klekotko (Bob) of Elon. Survivors also include his Mother-in-law, Maxine Mills of Liberty, Sister-in-law, Charlotte Fogleman of Whitsett, Brothers-in-law, David Mills (Karen) and Allen Gentry of Okla. and the nieces & nephews that he loved dearly. Special friends include Leonard & Jean Lineberry and Tommy Groninger of Liberty.
Webster was employed with The Ervin Co. of Charlotte in property and maintenance management; then followed his dream of self-employment. He owned H & M Lawn Care in Charlotte and Raleigh for several years, then learned cable construction and started Holder’s Cable Construction, based in North Wilkesboro. He retired at an early age to pursue his passion of farming as owner of Still Water’s Farm in Liberty.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Wert & staff of LeBauer Health Care and the staff of The Greensboro Coumadin Clinic for their years of service; Dr. Kalsoom Khan, Dr. James Kinard, Dr. John Wrenn and the staff of Wesley Long Cancer Center for their personal & caring dedication to Webster’s medical procedures, and especially to the staff at Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Burlington for the compassion shown and dignity given to Webster and his family during the past five days.
Webster was a member of Mt. Pleasant UMC, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 24th, with family visitation at the fellowship hall following the service. The Rev. Chuck Ireson will be officiating.
Contributions in Webster’s memory may be made to Mt. Pleasant UMC, Liberty, for the Playground Equipment Fund or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Burlington.
