James Carl Ferguson

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 am

at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Clapp officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

James was the son of the late Enoch and Minnie Gladys Helton Ferguson and was also preceded in death by his son, James “Jimmy” Atkins; sister, Rosie Overman and six brothers, Paul, J.L., J.D., Charlie, Roger and Cecil Ferguson.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Joyce Patrum Ferguson; daughters, Pamela Graves, Phyllis Holder (Junior) and Cecilia Chester all of Liberty; sons, William Atkins (Margaret), Joe Michael Atkins; sister, Frieda Hirschberg and 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
