Junko Maeda Edwards

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Chuck Ireson; the family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Junko was born in Osaka, Japan to the late Kastumasa and Fumie Mukai Maeda and was also preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Wayne Edwards and one brother, Norio Maeda.

Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Moody Lockamy (Mark) of Belmont and Margie Hudson (Aaron) of Asheboro; sons, Charles Edwards, Jr. (Hazel) of Pleasant Garden and James “Jimmy” Edwards of the home; granddaughter, Kathleen Erin Hernandez; grandsons, Steven Andrew Moody, Christopher Matthew Moody, Aaron Nicholas Moody and Jacob Sean Lockamy; brothers, Takashi Maeda and Tetsuro Maeda and her beloved four legged companion, Chevelle.

At the family’s request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Playground Equipment Fund, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
