On behalf of John Blum, Kate & Rob Rieping, myself, and all of his friends at ConvaTec, we are so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. Ken was a colleague, a mentor, and a friend to all of us. We especially remember his hospitality and friendship whenever we visited him at TPP or at TPP's Haina facility...he always made us feel so welcome.....
We are so sorry for your loss, and we are so sad that Ken has been lost to us. But we know with certainty that the world is a better place for Ken having lived such a great life!
A donation has been made in Ken's memory to the Boy Scouts Old North State Council.

I will always remember Ken fondly this way.  He had a unselfish  heart and willingness to help others to learn,  grow and succeed. Quick with joke, a smile and shared life lessons  he always stood by helping one to be a better person.

Scouts and Scouters alike have such respect and admiration for "Mr. Ken" Cindy, and their sons. I know I do and always be thankful they let me into their lives.

Wow, what an inspiring soul you have been in my life, whether you knew it or not!  As I think of the time we shared together here on Earth, I just know it was God’s work!  How fortunate I was to have been surrounded and blessed with so many great Families like you!  You all were so supportive of me and I am forever grateful!  I had the simple and easy job of teaching your amazing children!  I, to this day, still brag on what we all had back then!  That is truly hard to find these days!  When I first met you, I didn’t really know or understand how to be a good Husband, or a Father.  Well, I didn’t have to look far!  I really owe a lot to Great men like yourself!  Thank you so much for blazing a clear path in my life and showing me what it truly takes to be selfless, kind, loving and non-judgemental!  I love you Kenny Baby and I will honorably see you again someday!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Man ... I can’t believe it ....what an honor, to have known you my friend...you have my word.....the Reed’s will always look out for Cindy, the Boys, wives and grand babies. I will never forget your adventurous spirit. Made me want to work harder. And because those Young men(boys) always esteemed you high...I try to pattern myself after what I watched you do all the years I have known you... not 1 , not 2 , but 3 solid men (that I know personally) you have helped to develop. That’s quite an accomplishment.....the world , this country and all your friends thank you and yours for your service... was just thinking about you guys at the band banquet when I saw The Greesons. Rest easy my friend. Tell my pop hello for me.....

I have known Ken and Cindy and all the boys through Scouts,  at Camp Cherokee and Order of the Arrow events with Tsoiotsi Tsogalii Lodge 70. All pictures of Ken show that warm smile I remember which translated ..."how can I help? "    Leading scouts at summer camp, and leading work teams at Inductions and Beaver Days for camp Ken was there with willing hands and a warm smile. 
Saturday June 1, I will be honoring Ken while working at Camp Woodfield Work Day to help prepare the camp for Cub Scout programs this summer. 

Mr Stevens was such a kind soul. He always had time for us band kids and treated us like we were his own. He was always supportive and loved his family deeply. When he spoke it was always a good idea to listen otherwise you might miss learning something, or miss a joke. He will be greatly missed. 

I only had a few moments to be at the Stevens Household. But every time I was at his house, I was welcomed like a member of the family. Such a vibrant person, and a warming smile. I do however have a lot of fun memories with his sons, Chris and Matt. They are two of the most respectful, and generous gentlemen. They have a heart of gold, and incredibly genuine. I can tell the received those traits from their wonderful father. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss, and you are in my constant prayers. May Gods Grace send healing during this time. 

I have many memories of “Mr. Ken”  being a great scoutmaster to myself and others. I’ll always remember how he took time out of his own personal life to  take us camping, backpacking, and on one occasion, sailing in the Bahamas. I learned many things in scouts under his guidance that will stay with me my whole life and I consider myself very lucky to have known him. 

In high school a few years back, I went to my Junior Prom with Sean.  When I had the pleasure of meeting his parents, Cindy and Ken, they both were gracious and so so nice to me.  Ken was always so fun to be around, and would always ask how I was doing.  I ran into him a few years ago in Greensboro and we had a short conversation and he and I were Facebook friends. He was a true gem.  Cindy, Sean, Jonathan, Christopher and Matthew, I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.  The world can be a tough place and you can take comfort in knowing your father was someone who made the world a little bit better by just his presence.



As a member of AlamanceCAP we are saddened to hear of Ken's passing. His passion and participation in our High School Apprenticeship program was infectious.  We loved his positive attitude and get it done philosophy.

He will be sorely missed by all of our apprentices and member companies. Blessings to his family.
