A private funeral service will be conducted.
Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late James and Hattie McMasters Edwards and was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Ward, Jr.
Surviving are her three sons, Tony Ward and partner, Allen Smith of Charlotte, John Ward, III and his wife, Nancy of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Rick Ward and his wife, Liz of Wendell, NC, and one brother, Mack Edwards and his wife, Buena of Liberty.
