Roy Allen Black

Roy was a charter member of Kimesville Community Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed by Wiley Elementary School and took great pride in his work. He loved and was loved dearly by all of his nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty with Rev. Eugene Dean officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Roy was the son of the late Bernard David and Barbara Alice Clapp Black and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine “Kay” Gourley Black and one sister, Bonnie B. Cobb.

Surviving is his sister, Sarah B. Marshall; brothers, Gilbert Black (Deborah), Thomas Black (Diana) and Charles Black (Debbie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kimesville Community Volunteer Fire Department, 6610 Humble Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
