

Tim was a 1982 graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. He was a member of Pleasant Union United Methodist Church where he served on various committees over the years. He achieved the rank of Life Scout and just recently received his 25 year Scouting Service Award pin; he was the current Scout Master of Troop 301. He was dedicated to service to his community as he was a volunteer fireman, serving at Kimesville Station #45 as a charter member and Mt. Hope Station #38. He was a member of the Guilford County Cattleman’s Association
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 30 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty with Rev. Charles Ireson and Rev. Keith Newell officiating; burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Pleasant Union United Methodist Church, 5929 Coble Church Road, Liberty.
Tim was married for almost 27 years to his high school sweetheart, Della Coble Clapp of the home. Also surviving are his sons, Matthew Lindley Clapp and Daniel Mark Clapp of the home; parents, Max and Joanne Clapp of Liberty and sister, Denise Jenkins and husband, David of Hendersonville, NC.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Matthew and Mark Clapp Scholarship Fund, 6400 Preston Road, Julian, NC 27283.
