Timothy John Steele

Born in Bellows Falls, VT, he was the youngest son of the late Richard Joseph Steele and the late Catherine Jane McKearin Steele. A Vietnam veteran of the US Navy, Tim was a BMW Motorcycle Master Technician. He worked for several BMW motorcycle shops in the eastern United States and eventually had his own shop at home in Liberty, NC. He enjoyed long rides through the mountains and watching the broadcasted international motorcycle races. He obtained the 200,000 mile motorcycle riding award also. Tim loved all animals, especially his cats and the birds on his land. He was a supporter of the Goathouse Animal Refuge’s mission in Chatham County. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Joan Steele.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dr. Theresa Tucker Steele; brothers, Christopher (Chris) Charles Steele and his wife, Ji Yuan of Julian, NC, Jeremy (Jerry) James Steele and his wife, Patricia of Hiawassee, Georgia; Tim had one son, Zachary; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel at 212 West Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC 27298.
